Advisory board:

Adam Donnan
Working in environmental sciences, I believe we need to develop new economic models that properly recognise the value of the natural and social capital.
Adam Donnan CEnv has worked at the Institution of Environmental Sciences (IES) since 2006, becoming their CEO in 2013. He recently completed a three-year term as Chair of the Science Council, and past roles include Chairing the Technical Pathways Programme Board and Non-Executive Director of Change Agents UK.
Adam has been well-recognised externally, winning numerous awards for his environmental and sustainability work, notably as Young Leader of the Year 2014, Association Awards UK, and being recognised on The ENDS Report Power List of the 100 most influential UK environmental professionals in 2022, 2023 and 2025.

Andy Ross
I support the AQE as it's vital that we have economists who can deliver a successful and sustainable economy that serves all citizens.
Andy is a visiting professor, author and businessperson. He is a Fellow of the Society of Professional Economists, Royal Economic Society and the Academy of Social Science, and is a Patron of the Economics Network.
A former Government Economic Service (GES) deputy director, he has served as Head of Professional Development for the GES and for the Society of Professional Economists. Today, Andy enjoys being an associate lecturer at Birkbeck, University of London.

Denise Hawks
I joined AQE because it’s student-led, future-focused, and committed to reimagining economics education for a fairer, more sustainable world.
Denise Hawkes is a Professor in Economics Education at King’s Business School and the Deputy Director of I-LEAD at King’s College London. She leads the development of the I-LEAD evaluation framework and the I-GIVE discipline outreach programme, both co-created with students to embed inclusive, evidence-informed practices across higher education. Denise is also the co-chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Network at the Royal Economic Society, championing equity and innovation in economics education.

Ingrid Kvangraven
Ingrid Harvold Kvangraven is a Senior Lecturer at King's College London's Department of International Development. Her work centres on imperialism and uneven development, international financial subordination and critically evaluating the discipline of Economics, including via debates about decolonization. She is a co-founder and steering group member of Diversifying and Decolonising Economics (D-Econ), co-founder and editor of the Developing Economics blog, and she is on the management committee of the Association for Heterodox Economics.

Shloka Murarka
Shloka Murarka is an EPOG+ Erasmus Mundus scholarship holder, currently pursuing a postgraduate degree in International Economics, with her first year based at the Berlin School of Economics and Law (HWR). She holds a BSc in Economics from SOAS University of London, where she served as President of SOAS Rethinking Economics and co-ran a feminist collective, How Women Work!. She is also an organiser with the Development Working Group of the Young Scholars Initiative (YSI). Her academic and activist interests focus on the feminist political economy of labour. Shloka previously worked for SOS UK on the initial establishment of the AQE, now holding a guiding role on our advisory board.

Victoria Hurth
Dr Victoria Hurth is an Independent Pracademic. The forthcoming book: Beyond Profit: Purpose-Driven Leadership for a Wellbeing Economy, outlines her holistic theory of governance practice required for long-term wellbeing for all (sustainability). Victoria is a Fellow of the University of Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership, and is currently Project Leader of the first international standard in Purpose-Driven Organisations (ISO37011). She is a non-executive Director for Soil Association Certification Ltd, governance advisor for Planet Mark, impact advisor for UnaTerra.and advisor for the Association of Quality Economics. Previously she supported the UN on SDG 12.6.1 (sustainability reporting) methodology, co-led development of the first international standard in Governance of Organisations (ISO37000), was Technical Author for the first national standard in Purpose-Driven Organisations (PAS808) and advised SACE (Italy’s national export credit agency) and Creatives for Climate. Victoria has 25 years’ global experience in business transformation, previously working for 3M and Accenture and developing cutting edge theory as an Associate Professor of Sustainable Business and Marketing.

Amy Padfield
Amy Padfield is Senior Project Manager at SOS UK, overseeing campaigns and projects since 2024 including Teach the Future, Green Schools Revolution and international advocacy. Having worked for a number of membership organisations she has extensive experience in leading early career support, EEDI network development, careers, mentoring and engagement at the British Ecological Society. Amy has also gained experience in the Royal Society Biology with the team developing and delivery the accreditation of bioscience degrees within the UK and internationally. She is additionally a Trustee at the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust.

Dominic Caddick
Dominic is an economist at the New Economics Foundation specialising in fiscal and monetary policy in the UK and EU. His research looks at the impact of austerity and aims to design systems that prevent it so we can invest in policies that protect the environment and reduce inequality. Before NEF, he worked at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy on innovation, subsidy and competition policy as an assistant economist and an analyst intern. Dominic has a BA in Economics from the University of Cambridge

Jack Di Francesco
Jack is a Project Manager at SOS UK, leading on a number of projects and campaigns such as Teach the Teacher and SHAPE. Jack has experience working in various roles across the HE sector, including working to improve admissions processes at King's College London, and supporting students through their university careers at SOAS Students' Union.

Jaya Sood
Jaya Sood is a senior economist at the New Economics Foundation. Her work in the Economy team focuses on macroeconomics for delivering and funding a just, green transition. She is an economist with 6 years of experience in the Government Economics Service working on fiscal events and the budget scorecard in HM Treasury; and Net Zero and Carbon Budgets strategy at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. She was chair of the internal government network Exploring Economics, which promotes pluralist thinking in government.

Lauren Roberts-Turner
Lauren Roberts-Turner is a Political Economy Graduate of King’s college London who has worked across economics throughout her degree and since graduating. She completed an internship with the Government Economics Service within DEFRA and has worked on research projects with LSE and across the charity sector. She has multiple roles across SOS, working as a research assistant and a climate change school’s facilitator and sitting as a youth representative on Future Forum. She is currently a member of the Labour’s Youth Advisory Group supporting the development of their 10-year youth strategy.

Will Wale
Will Wale is an undergraduate at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He previously served as Youth Focal Point for Sustainability and Climate Change at the UK Department for Education, and has experience working on the economics of the transition to low-carbon at the University of Cambridge’s Centre for Science and Policy. He has worked for SOS-UK since 2024 and also works on research the Centre for Climate Change and Sustainability Education at UCL.
